Ken Miyamae is told by a fellow employee that a magazine aimed towards adults is being planned and may include Monthly Girls' Romance authors, Ken suggests they reconsider. Some co-workers clarify the idea and pitch how current Monthly Girls' Romance characters would work in an adult magazine. One suggests that Saburou Suzuki is too perfect and should be made more useless, Ken reflects and realizes that this characterization would be deeper than the original. Ken is perplexed by the difference of approach between targeting teenagers and adult audiences. Mitsuya Maeno explains that taste changes as a person matures, using his and Yukari Miyako's preferences in a lover during high school and now as an example.
Umetarou Nozaki and Miyako come to attend an editorial office meeting. Nozaki is tasked to draw a mature manga because he appears old for a high school student, however, because of his lack of knowledge for the corporate world, the draft turned out too ridiculous, with the cast consisting most of Japan's financial power and seeming incompetent with their actual occupaitons. Miyako, whose mangas usually star adults, is asked and she mentions that her current manga is about companies and corporations, though very decent, it was ruined by Maeno and the strong presence of his tanukis.
In the end, the adult magazine is put on hold and Ken-san advises Nozaki to continue doing what he usually does, silently wishing for the characters to be smarter. Maeno asks Ken for his taste in women back in high school to compare to his current preference (independent women). Ken responds that his she had interests similar to his, secretly referring to a girl that hates Maeno despite dating him.
