Issue 45, published in Volume 5, is the 45th chapter of the manga. This is another chapter that features the entire cast. It’s plot is played out in the anime’s special episodes. In this chapter Hirotaka Wakamatsu discovers that Yuu Kashima/aka the ikemen is really a girl. The tagline for this chapter reads: 'Is this pretty boy her guy friend?? Or boyfriend??'

Summary[]
Hirotaka Wakamatsu is worried about the “ikemen” that Seo-senpai was with at the summer festival. He discusses his fears with Umetarou Nozaki and Masayuki Hori, but they don’t offer any concrete help. Hori then asks Wakamatsu if he would like to join them on their summer trip—Nozaki will be coming as well. Hori adds that although the second he heard Nozaki excitedly planning manga-related events, he instantly thought of leaving him behind.
Meanwhile, Chiyo Sakura, Yuu Kashima, Yuzuki Seo , and Mikoto Mikoshiba are discussing the class trip. Sakura worriedly asks Mikorin if he is planning to go as well. He confidently assures her that he will be fine—Kashima is going as well. She softly replies that that is true, but Kashima will be in a different room and have a different bath. Kashima laughingly answers her that Mikoshiba knows that much, but she is shocked after seeing Mikoshiba’s shocked face.
At this point, Wakamatsu starts overhearing their conversation because he notices the “ikemen” from before. When he sees both girls happily agreeing to spend time-in the same room no less- with him, he is speechless. Furthermore, he is even more bewildered when he sees how cautious and careful Mikoshiba-senpai is acting about the trip.
Worried about both girls, Wakamatsu mistakenly accompanies them as they go to buy swimsuits. As countless misunderstandings occur among the group, Wakamatsu still stands his ground. He later gloomily confesses to Nozaki that Seo-senpai is definitely dating “that ikemen”—they even plan to share a room together on the trip. Nervous and upset, Nozaki replies he doesn’t want to hear stories like that—he doesn’t like to even add “that kind of stuff” to his manga. When Wakamatsu shows him his “mind map”, Nozaki puts all the pieces together and discloses who the “ikemen” really is. Exceedingly embarrassed, Wakamatsu tells Hori-senpai that Kashima-senpai is really cool.
