Hirotaka Wakamatsu tells Umetarou Nozaki that thanks to Lorelei-san’s song, he is sleeping better than before. When Nozaki shares this with Sakura as they watch the basketball team practice, she can’t believe that Yuzuki Seo’s voice had such therapeutic effects. Nozaki, however, silently concludes that it is only working because she is actually the source of his stress.
Later on, Wakamatsu tells Nozaki about all the problems Seo is causing him. He tried some small techniques (glaring, etc.), but Nozaki insists they are not strong enough. Wakamatsu then decides to confront Seo about all the trouble she’s causing him. He chooses different methods based on the tactics he’s read in shojo manga. Although Nozaki tells him that real life doesn’t work like this, he still decides to go ahead with his plan—to challenge Seo to a duel on the school’s rooftop. Sakura is present with Seo when she receives this “challenge” and wonders how things will proceed.
However, Yuzuki doesn’t feel threatened at all; instead she decides to nickname him “Waka.” He vainly and loudly tries to tell her that she should change herself—she causes him endless trouble on the basketball court; then she also makes him do things for her and even takes him out to a family restaurant. Furthermore, her behavior is nothing like Lorelei-san from the Glee Club. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know that Seo is Lorelei because Nozaki failed to mention it to him. Seo asks him to repeat what he said about “Lorelei-san” one more time, completely bewildering Wakamatsu. He decides he has no choice but to make his final move. Nevertheless, in the end, he gives her a pair of gloves, and she leaves. Nozaki, who observed the entire exchange in futility, tries to console Wakamatsu. “Waka” vows to try harder to get through to her next time.
Later Seo tells Sakura about what happened. She believes he was just shy about his feelings; that’s why he was acting so weird. Sakura believes that Seo will treasure the first present she got from a boy. However, Seo immediately sees a bug and squashes it between her gloved hands.
